FREE TO THE WORLD – THE KRISHNAMURTI VIDEO COLLECTION, AND MEDIA UPDATE

Over the course of the last year, the Foundation released all of Krishnamurti's video recordings on YouTube. The complete collection, comprising almost 600 full-length videos, is now free to the world and can be accessed on our channel.

The collection is grouped by series, with each video titled and summarised using archival transcripts. The videos contain 2,200 subtitles (and counting) in 30 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. Each language has its own playlist, where users can easily find translated videos.

It took many years to digitise, produce and release these videos. Making available Krishnamurti's teachings is one of our core mandates, and the completion of this project is a milestone in the history of the Foundation. This project could never have taken place without the generous donations we have received over the years.

Today, online platforms make the dissemination of Krishnamurti's transformational message drastically easier. However, they also pose a risk in how they can distort content. By creating an official repository, we want to ensure that everyone can access the teachings for free at its most undiluted.

Our work is far from over now that all videos have been released. There are over 1600 audio recordings (out of 2500) still to be produced and released. We look forward to being able to provide these for free online, and as a taster we have uploaded four remarkable series on our YouTube channel.

Another future area of focus is the poor picture and audio quality of many videos that are in need of professional restoration. Additionally, film reels carefully preserved in our archives can be digitised at high resolution using cutting edge technology, making it possible to watch Krishnamurti videos in HD.

Above all, we wish to bring the teachings to the young and help introduce newcomers to Krishnamurti's body of work in an accessible yet uncompromising manner. We will do this through digital campaigns, one of which is the new iteration of www.jkrishnamurti.org coming this autumn.

All of this, and much more, will be carried out with a renewed spirit of cooperation between the departments at Brockwood Park, the Schools, The Krishnamurti Centre, and Development Department.

From all of us at Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, thank you for your support and help. We hope that you will appreciate this video project and our future activities.

We would like to hear what you think, so please feel free to get in touch. We are also always looking for new volunteers to translate video subtitles. If you have an excellent command of your native language and English, a deep interest in Krishnamurti's teachings, and would like to help us with this, please email digital@kfoundation.org
