Spring 2013

Brockwood Park ePost: A quarterly e-newsletter informing you about the work of the Krishnamurti Foundation, Brockwood Park School, the Krishnamurti Centre, and Inwoods Small School.

Annual Appeal 2013: 'We all helped build it'

Brockwood's department Heads
In 1983 Krishnamurti wrote about Brockwood: ‘It began with many difficulties, lack of money and so on, and we all helped to build it to its present condition.’ When he said those words he was not simply referring to those of us living and working here, but to everyone around the world who has ever supported Brockwood with their generosity.

This year we’ve had an extraordinary offer from a Friend of Brockwood who will triple every gift we receive up to a personal cap of £300,000. So when you give £50 we will receive £200! We are hoping to raise £100,000 in order to receive a total of £400,000. A large gift of this nature will make a big difference for us! See this video to find out what we are raising funds for, or go here to donate directly.

Conference: When is Teaching?

From August 16-18, Brockwood hosts a weekend education conference on teaching and learning with renowned Harvard educator, author, student and colleague of Piaget, Eleanor Duckworth, and other educators. The conference will feature lectures, workshops, demonstrations, and discussions around key questions to transform and nurture our everyday lives as educators. Go here for more information or to register.

The Krishnamurti Centre features a full programme of Themed Weekends, Study Retreats, and Introduction Days this summer and fall. These are all great opportunities for people to examine together one or more themes in Krishnamurti’s teachings.

In this never before released series of 4 DVDs Krishnamurti meets with teachers to discuss questions such as 'What is the meaning of education?' and 'Why are we educated at all?'

We asked alumna and architecture student Maryam Benoit to serve as our architectural tour guide of the buildings at Brockwood Park. Here is her photo essay.

In these previously unreleased talks to university students, Krishnamurti poses the question: ‘Can human beings in themselves bring about a radical revolution.’
